Booking and Payment
A completed booking request form with a £10 deposit per person is required to request a tour booking (see ‘Booking form’). Alternatively, the same details can be provided by telephone or email, in which case the deposit is required within seven days. Tours can be booked upto the date before the Tour , in which case full payment is made on the day of the Tour. Deposits should be paid by cheque payable to ‘M Holderness’. Unfortunately we are unable to accept credit card payments.
When the client’s details and deposit have been received and tour details agreed, a written booking confirmation will be issued. This confirmation binds the client to understand the service description set out in ‘ Tours’ and accept the terms and conditions laid out here.
Full settlement by cash or cheque is required at the start of the tour.
Cancellation and Refunds
In case of cancellation by the client more than two weeks in advance of the tour date, deposits will be refunded. No deposits can be refunded for client cancellations within two weeks of the tour date though bookings can be transferred to another date. If cancellation is the fault of TBWS Bird Tours a full refund will be given. Please note that bad weather will not necessarily result in the cancellation of a tour. The tour will normally go ahead unless conditions are particularly bad, in which case refunds are payable at the discretion of TBWS Bird Tours. We will of course attempt to adjust itineraries to cope with the conditions.
Groups will not normally exceed four clients plus the leader. The group can be made up from a single booking or can be ‘infilled’ on an individual basis from multiple bookings at the discretion of TBWS Bird Tours but only where client requirements are judged to be fully compatible. If client requirements are not compatible and cannot be met through one tour, places will be allocated on a ‘first come first served’ basis and later-booking clients will be offered an alternative date(s). Our aim is always to tailor the tour as closely as possible to your requirements but a small amount of ‘infilling’ where this does not compromise the agreed tour content ensures that we can offer a fully customised service but at a highly competitive price. The final decision on all booking matters rests with TBWS Bird Tours.
Children aged over 10 are accepted on tours at the normal price but clients will need to judge carefully their likely enjoyment of the tour. And are the sole responsibility of the accompanying adult. No dogs are permitted on any tour.
TBWS Bird Tours reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion without stating a reason and also reserves the right to terminate without refund the participation of any client unable or unwilling to conduct themselves in a manner compatible with the satisfactory operation of the tour and the enjoyment of any other members of the group.
TBWS Bird Tours can not be held responsible for any loss, damage to or theft of personal belongings or for any illness, injury or accident which may occur during a tour unless proven to be caused by negligence on the part of TBWS Bird Tours. Clients are bound to take all normal, sensible precautions and exercise an appropriate degree of care at all times. TBWS Bird Tour holds full public liability insurance.
Please remember that birds can fly away or be extremely elusive! Although we will make every effort to find any particular species you may wish to see, we cannot of course always guarantee success.
If you have cause for complaint during the tour you should notify your guide as soon as possible so that we can do our best to assist you on the day. If the issue remains unresolved you should make a written complaint within fourteen days of completion of the tour.
